For most vivid color results, use glossy photo paper and your printers best quality print setting. Laminate my covers before binding to increase durability. Printing your covers can also be done at a copy shop. The simplest way I've found to \"shrink\" a standard PDF is to determine a smaller size that you like and that is closely proportional to 8.5x11. Next, trim your paper to that size first (this is the KEY)! Load it into your printer and when you hit print - in the Print Properties, change your paper size to match the size you want (the size you trimmed your paper). If the paper size you want isn't listed as a size option, you can go into your Control Panel\/Printers and in Print Properties add a custom paper size.
