This salve is also featured in my "6 Salve" First Aid Kit --> HERE

Got a stubborn splinter that is too deep to grab with tweezers? Use this salve to "draw" it out! The Yarrow and Tea Tree will work over-time to prevent infection while the activated charcoal and bentonite clay coax pesky splinters to the surface. Dab a small amount directly on the splinter, cover with a bandage overnight, wash, then remove exposed splinter. Repeat if necessary. It can also be used for boils, stingers, and in general, for drawing impurities and foreign objects out of your skin. It works by softening the skin, this softening also creates pus that helps push the object out. *

NOTE: This WILL STAIN bedding and clothing, so make sure it's covered with a bandage!

BONUS: Can be used as a facial mask to draw out blackheads and other impurities. The black charcoal may initially fill your pores, so you'll need to cleanse well with an astringent afterwards. It will leave your face feeling soft, supple, toned and clean!

A NOTE ABOUT MY SALVES:

My salves are released in small homemade batches after a special (and proprietary) infusion process that took me 6 years to develop! My goal is to move as much of the natural medicinal goodness as I can from the herbs into the oil... and the result is a whole line of salves that have been uniquely currated to be surprisingly effective! In our home, we grab a salve before we EVER pop a pill!

❤ ABOUT YARROW: Yarrow grows all over the world in meadows, grasslands, mountains and foothills! It is PACKED with medicinal benefits... and when applied as a salve, it's a skin healing bombshell! It's antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial which helps prevent infection and speed healing of minor skin wounds and irritations.

❤  ACTIVATED CHARCOAL: The antibacterial and porous properties of activated charcoal are believed to be able to draw out bacteria trapped in your pores and can remove impurities in your skin. It acts like a magnet, absorbing bacteria and neutralizing toxins - which also make is ideal for calming bug bites! Charcoal is made from coal, wood, or other substances. It becomes "activated charcoal" when high temperatures combine with a gas or activating agent to expand its surface area.

❤ BENTONITE CLAY: People have used bentonite clay to remove impurities on the skin for thousands of years. Bentonite clay forms from volcanic ash. It gets its name from Fort Benton in Wyoming, where it occurs in large amounts. People can also find this clay in other places where volcanic ash has settled into the ground.

❤  ABOUT TEA TREE: The anti-inflammatory effect of tea tree oil helps to soothe and relieve painful and irritated skin. It may also help to reduce redness and swelling.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE? The shelf life of the oil in the salve is 1-2 years. However, to enjoy its medicinal benefits the most, I recommend using within a year.

  • HOW MUCH SALVE SHOULD I USE? In general, consider using a "small glop" the size of a pump or two of lotion and apply over the affected area 2-3x daily as needed (use less if it's a tiny area, of course)! In general, a minor topical skin issue will use much less salve than a joint or muscle issue where you are massaging the salve in. See my website or check your product label for specific application recommendations.

  • ARE SALVES SAFE FOR BABIES & SENSITIVE SKIN? I haven't conducted FDA approved clinical trials, so I can't label my salves as "for sensitive skin" or "baby safe." But, I can tell you MANY of my close friends and family use my salves on themselves and their families OFTEN & REGULARLY with great success and confidence. Just like with ANY new skin care product, there is always a potential for allergies or irritation... so test a small area first before using regularly or on a larger area. If you have KNOWN allergies, take note of the ingredient list provided on each label. And, of course, discontinue use if any kind of reaction or irritation occurs. Salves with menthol crystals, camphor, peppermint and eucalyptus are NOT intended for young children and babies.

  • A NOTE ABOUT CONSISTENCY: Depending on the temperatures where you live, your salve will arrive with a general consistency between a neosporin-type oinment and a slightly firm vaseline. Softness of the salve will vary based on your particular climate and seasonal temperature. Since the salve contains beeswax, avoid leaving in a hot car or in the sun to prevent melting. Your tin will be shrink wrapped to prevent any dripping if it does happen to soften during transit. If melting does occur, simply put it in the refrigerator to return it to its normal consistency.

Drawing Salve

I purchased the drawing salve as part of a kit. My granddaughter received a bad spider bite and my daughter called to ask if I had something she could use. I gave her the drawing salve and by the next day it was much better - nearly gone. I have used black salve for things before and love it. This reminds me of that. I'm very glad you have this salve. Thank you

Wow it really works!

We have goatheads where we live. I step on them and also get poked when I am out working in my garden. Usually I can get them out without too much problem. I recently had one that left a sliver deep in my finger. I usually dig at it with a needle but this time I applied the drawing salve and a bandaid. I couldn't belive when it was gone the next day. Amazing!

I had my doubts....

I really didn't think this would work as well as it did. I was doing some gardening and got a thorny/splintery thing in my thumb; of course it broke off so part of it was stuck inside. I used the drawing balm and it was out painlessly in a day. I used the balm for another day just in case.
