HAPPY FEET Salve

Time to get your feet flip flop ready!! This salve is formulated to heal cracks (then prevent them)! It's also pain relieving, refreshing, will prevent odor, tackle athletes foot, and when used daily - will even begin to reduce any yellowness and thickness you might have in your nails! Plus - it smells great and will get your feet energized for another fun day in the sun!

HOW TO USE IT: Apply like a lotion to clean, dry feet daily - for an extra healing boost, apply at night and wear socks! For deep, troublesome cracks on your heals, wash and dry the area then apply salve and cover with bandage (change it daily). This formula has peppermint essential oil (which can be an eye irritant), so wash hands after applying.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I USE? If you are applying to your entire foot, simply scoop a bit onto your finger - about the size of a pump of lotion! Or, if only treating a single crack, after washing and drying - fill the crack with salve and massage some into the area immediately surrounding the crack, then cover with bandage and change daily.

IS IT SAFE FOR BABIES & LITTLE KIDS? Because this formula contains peppermint essential oil, I do not recommend it for babies or little kids.

• It's has a green hugh... will it stain? I've used these salves repeatedly and have never had any clothing stain. However... I probably wouldn't use it while in my wedding dress, and definitely don't send it through the laundry! {wink, wink!}

A NOTE ABOUT MY SALVES:

My salves are released in small homemade batches after a special (and proprietary) infusion process that took me 6 years to develop! My goal is to move as much of the natural medicinal goodness as I can from the herbs into the oil... and the result is a whole line of salves that have been uniquely currated to be surprisingly effective! In our home, we grab a salve before we EVER pop a pill!

 ABOUT DANDELION: Dandelions are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants making them a crusader against free radicals and powerful fighters for cellular health and skin recovery. They are also anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and are a natural anti-histamine. It can reduce redness, reduce itching, decrease flakiness and speed up recovery time of many irritating skin conditions.

 ABOUT CALENDULA: Calendula flowers have antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that make it useful in healing wounds, soothing eczema, and relieving diaper rash. It's also used as an antiseptic, can help calm redness, reduces inflammation and can ease skin discomfort. It's skin-loving properties make it an excellent addition to any skin soothing salve or balm!

 ABOUT YARROW: Yarrow is widely known for it's skin healing properties. It is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial which helps prevent infection, reduce redness and is known to speed the healing of minor skin wounds and irritations. It's particularly fantastic at speeding up the healing of cracks!

 ABOUT COMFREY: One of the most desireable components in comfrey leaves is allantoin, which is known to promote cell formation that aids in healing at the cellular level! Comfrey ointments have been used for centuries to heal broken skin, calm redness and reduce bruising. It also contains anti-inflammatory properties making it a great topical pain reliever as well!

 ABOUT ARNICA: Thanks to its high concentration of sesquiterpenes, it's an effective analgesic and is anti-inflammatory. It's applied to the skin as a cream, ointment, salve, or tincture and is generally known to soothe skin, reduce inflammation, treat burns, and heal minor topical wounds. 

  ABOUT LAVENDER: Besides its divine aroma and abundant properties that promote relaxation, Lavender is widely know for its anti-microbial properties and has been used for centuries to fight infection. It's full of anti-oxidants which contribute to it's ability to speed the healing of topical wounds by accelerating skin re-generation. It's also a natural pain reliever, reduces inflammation and may relieve muscle tension and tightness making it perfect for your feet!

ABOUT PEPPERMINT: Peppermint essential oil is one of the best essential oils for tired, sore feet. In addition to its minty and refreshing aroma, it also acts as an analgesic (pain reliever), by cooling the area and temporarily masking pain. If you've been on your feet all day, using peppermint oil can help to reduce tension and swelling. It also has natural moisturizing properties, can stimulate blood flow to the skin, relieve tired muscles, and calm spasms.

 ABOUT TEA TREE: Tea Tree Oil is anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and anti-fungal making it a great addition to any foot salve! From controlling bacteria that causes odor - to busting through athletes foot and toenail fungus, it's a powerful foot healer! Tea tree oil also acts as natural antiseptic and is anti-inflammatory making it effective in controlling the itching, burning and scaly inflammation caused by common fungal infections of the feet and nails.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

• WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE? The shelf life of the oil in the salve is 1-2 years. However, to enjoy its medicinal benefits the most, I recommend using within a year.
  
  
• HOW MUCH SALVE SHOULD I USE? In general, consider using a "small glop" the size of a pump or two of lotion and apply over the affected area 2-3x daily as needed (use less if it's a tiny area, of course)! In general, a minor topical skin issue will use much less salve than a joint or muscle issue where you are massaging the salve in. See my website or check your product label for specific application recommendations.
  
  
• ARE SALVES SAFE FOR BABIES & SENSITIVE SKIN? I haven't conducted FDA approved clinical trials, so I can't label my salves as "for sensitive skin" or "baby safe." But, I can tell you MANY of my close friends and family use my salves on themselves and their families OFTEN & REGULARLY with great success and confidence. Just like with ANY new skin care product, there is always a potential for allergies or irritation... so test a small area first before using regularly or on a larger area. If you have KNOWN allergies, take note of the ingredient list provided on each label. And, of course, discontinue use if any kind of reaction or irritation occurs. Salves with menthol crystals, camphor, peppermint and eucalyptus are NOT intended for young children and babies.
  
  
• A NOTE ABOUT CONSISTENCY: Depending on the temperatures where you live, your salve will arrive with a general consistency between a neosporin-type oinment and a slightly firm vaseline. Softness of the salve will vary based on your particular climate and seasonal temperature. Since the salve contains beeswax, avoid leaving in a hot car or in the sun to prevent melting. Your tin will be shrink wrapped to prevent any dripping if it does happen to soften during transit. If melting does occur, simply put it in the refrigerator to return it to its normal consistency.
